Pilates was pioneered by Joseph Pilates in the early 20th century. His background in gymnastics and physical therapy, along with his experiences during WWI where he helped rehabilitate injured patients, all played in a role shaping his unique exercise method.

Pilates is a type of mind-body exercise developed in the early 20th century by German physical trainer Joseph Pilates, after whom it was named. Pilates called his method “Contrology” and has been proven to develop and strengthen the body and its’ muscles. Focusing on engaging the core and muscle to mind connection-it also tones up the legs, arms, and back. It is practiced worldwide, and is a miracle and elegant workout and discipline to get you, your dream body.

Pilates is for everyone, we don’t judge ad nor does Pilates. The exercise is designed for people of all ages, heights, shapes and sizes. If you have an injury or training for your next Comrades marathon, Pilates can assist you.

I recommend always having something small to eat, this will stabilise your sugar, please bring water and a towel. All equipment is supplied.
